Fos-sur-Mer is a town some fifty kilometers from Marseille, the object of massive industrialization since the sixties in connection with the expansion of the port of Marseille. Nestler nudges into the heart of this radical transformation of a site and gives us its historic and economic depth, meeting up with French and foreign workers – the exploited workforce here is above all North African.
