“In Deux Ex, the figurative fainting is certainly a solution to a subjective conflict: the refusal to any longer take charge of the shoot of a surgical intervention. But the annihilation of this open belly in a blur coincides with the discovery of other frequencies of the visible, thanks to the power of a red which opens the connection, quite simply, to a flower. The emotion surpasses itself in a red which is not a pure sensation, a pure, abstract colour. Its general nature depends on the fact that it is already pregnant with worlds, latency, an element, a ray of the world, in the words of Merleau-Ponty, via which we slip “from the subjective to Being”.” (Kevin Capelli)
