Ciguri 98, shot during winter 1995-1996, meets with the last great peyotl shaman, and the healing secret rites. The choice of shooting the film in black & white has to do with the first telling of the Antonin Artaud Tarahumara experience in his text Voyage au pays de tarahumaras titled La Danse du peyotl. The voice of Jean Rouch reading this visionary text gets in a singular resonance with the event of a trance captured by the camera.
