On a kitsch television set of the eighties in Bulgaria, a young journalist asks philosophical questions: “Which of our dreams are the most important? Those we realized or those that failed?” Every Wall is a Door is an offbeat film composed of political archives and personal texts. Through this strange programme, whose creator and presenter is my mother, the film revisits Bulgaria at the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall, questioning failed revolutions and the imprint they have left on our lives.
