The director goes in depth into her father’s photo archive and diaries, from his military service in the Spanish Sahara in 1964 to his journeys across the Maghreb in the eighties and nineties, following the failure of his family project. With his camera, Manuel Monsell ran after a beauty which could move him to the place of his dreams. But all his trips reveal much more about the place of departure than about the place of destination, and put the notions of romantic love, independence and family into question.
