Theodor Christensen
1943 - Danemark - Noir & Blanc - 62'
A eulogy of industrial progress, the film traces the construction of a ship and outlines the history of Burmeister & Wain. From steam to diesel motors, the success of this large industrial company owes as much to its technology as to the commitment of its workers. 7 Mill. HK is one of Theodor Christensen's masterpieces: he shows all the power of documentary aesthetic with images – camerawork is by Jørgen Roos – and sounds energised by cutting clearly inspired by the theories of Eisenstein.
