Children have become “kings” in western society. Against a background of female liberation and autonomy, of the weakening of the father’s role and of the general end of authority, children are experiencing a fulfilment never before known in history.
The signs of this golden age are, at one and the same time, symbolic, material and legal. This documentary assesses and relates this unlikely transformation over time by intercutting the views and opinions of experts and families in a constant back and forth movement between the past and the present.
