The waste incinerator of Gilly sur Isère (France) has been closed by a decision of the Savoy Prefect in October 2001. Founded in 1984 to treat household refuses of fifty districts in the area, this waste incinerator has been accused to cause pollution with dioxin. Since December 2001, an association (ACALP) has been formed with 500 potential victims of this ecologic disaster. 165 complain have been filed in April 2002...
It is clear that today is just the beginning of a case that the extent and seriousness are difficult to plan.
