An old building stands in the middle of what was once a working-class neighborhood in Paris. From the real estate developer's billboards nailed to the facade we learn that it will soon be turned into housing.
But behind the stone wall, this little factory is still very much alive, with workers laboring at their stations. Their stories rise above the rumble of the machines as they speak of their lives, their plans, and their dreams while a chorus of neighbors in the street just outside gives voice to the muted violence that change inflicts upon a city.
