Since its accession to independence in 1991, Kyrgyzstan, a former soviet republic, was literally invaded by international agencies. In July 2005, the small village Togolok Moldo –as the whole country- go through the last stages of their march towards a market economy and democracy, as the presidential election builds up. Seen from Togolok Moldo as from the capital Bichkek, this roadmap to freedom and prosperity looks more and more like a road to nowhere.
