Women from the Malian diaspora living in the Paris suburb of Montreuil, address a “filmed letter” to someone of their choice, real or imaginary. Other women living in Bamako and Kayes in Mali take inspiration from these short films and freely create their own. All are invited to talk about their work, and each one uses this opportunity to say something important about herself.
They participated in the making of these films in workshops directed by Laurence Petit-Jouvet in France and Mali. The collection of these “letters” forms a single film which gives voice to the frustrations, passions, strength of these women.
