Halfway between documentary and fiction, the film tells the story of a voyage on a sailboat from the Antilles to Polynesia, the second stage of a trip around the world that started 18 years ago.
The film is like a painting, giving a particular view of the sea, the sky, the boat, the confined space of three men on a journey, the length of the crossing, the stopovers.
A film of visual and auditory sensations, an introspective and subjective look at the slow progress of the sailboat.
The images reflect the instability of the sea, the changing light, the permanent mobility. Objects swing like pendulums, the waves file past, one day follows another.
The shadows of the "Bounty", Melville and Gauguin hang over the journey.
