Narsix, a young man from Congo, is a voluntary worker on the MIMI-festival, a series of contemporary music concerts located at the Frioul island in front of Marseille travelling for the first time in his life. He meets another volunteer, Andrei from Russia who is just as overwhelmed by all the new things as he is. They are ready to explore together the noisy and colourful city, the unknown music and the great sea. However, Narsix has his limitations: he cannot swim.
Little by little, when Andrei gets to know Narsix, he starts giving him swimming lessons. At the same time, Narsix learns to listen to contemporary music without suffering...
