Bogdan Dziworski
1979 - 20 min - 35 mm - Couleur et Noir & Blanc - Pologne
An unusual documentary film about the life of the circus. Bogdan Dziworski chooses to show a calm but penetrating observation of circus artists during performances and at leisure time than to plunge us into a spectacular and "felliniesque" vision of the circus as a baroque world.
This serene phenomenology of the circus everyday life is built on the muffled soundscape, the sepia cinematography and the slow rhythm of the editing: ironically, in the end, a long shot filmed from a teeter-totter shows us the dreamlike reverse of this strange world.
