Amadou and Mariam are a couple of singer-musician-composers in Mali. They met in the seventies when they were students at the Institute for the young Blind in Bamako. Amadou was a guitarist with a legendary group,
"The Ambassadors", and Mariam was noted for her singing voice. Uniting their lives and talents, they devoted their life to working with young blind people, championing African artists, writing and singing songs meant for one and all. This film records their daily lives in Bamako as they shuttle back and forth between their family and professional lives. The link is provided by the radio the favourite medium of the blind and the people of Mali in general.
