Journal d'un photographe
Patrick Zachmann
2001 - 67 min - Betacam SP - Couleur - France

In December 1998, three months after the arrest of Augusto Pinochet, Patrick Zachmann – a photographer with the Magnum Agency – went to Chile to make a report on the victims of the dictatorship and the families of the "missing". He decided to add movement and sound to the pictures, and to make a film to show the difficulty of the work of memory undertaken by the victims.
This documentary is halfway between a report and a personal diary. The film provides a series of return journeys between eyewitness accounts and situations observed in Chile, Argentina, Bosnia and Rwanda.
