"Akaboum" observes youth and its thresholds. Those of a declining adolescence, and those geographical, that separate a Parisian suburb from imagined territories where avatars of oneself dwell in ecstasy.
While kids look for a rave party between the concrete towers of a governmental utopia and Euro Disney’s plastic kingdom, the film questions urgent matters of identity, colonial heritage, exclusion and cultural hybridization.
