Adapa le Sage Série-Collection : Contes et légendes du Louvre

Danielle Jaeggi, Edwige Kertès
1991 - 13 min - Couleur - France

"In Mesopotamia, long ago there lived a wise man named Adapa.
He was just a man but he had been taught by a god, Ea, the god of intelligence and knowledge who had instructed him in the secrets of the world.
Adapa, whose wisdom was legendary, was a priest in the town of Eridou, at the temple of his master Ea.
Summoned by the master of the heavens, Anou, for having cursed the Southern
Wind, he contemplated the heavens in all their splendour before returning to hearth among mortal men.
Anou, the king of the heavens, had granted him a favour : the art of curing, with the help of Ninkarrak, the goodess of medicine, the illnessess brought by the hot and humid Southern Wind."
