In contrast to Vanishing Point, which established a tension through repetition and its fixed, unwavering horizon, À qui appartiennent les pigeons ? shifts to a dense, close-range field of vision where the frame tightens. Third in a series of photographic and cinematographic essays made ??in Burkina Faso in West Africa, À qui appartiennent les pigeons ? is a poetic essay in film inspired by Mongo Beti's novel L'histoire du fou. It proposes through two characters under the spotlight a reflection on cultural identity characterized by colonialism.
