À la recherche du caïman noir
Françoise Ebrard, Hervé Dresen
1997 - 50 min - Beta digital - Couleur - France

In the depths of the Amazon swamps, a man, Rudolf Watschinger, paddles off in a duggout canoe in search of an endangered and mythical creature, the black caiman.
This massive reptile is a survivor from prehistorical times and the largest of all the caimans. Although protected, it is stalked by poachers not only for its skin, but also for its flesh. There remain just 1 % of the initial population of black caimans today.
"In search of the black caiman" is more than just a story of expedition. It is a breathtaking disocvery of this animal, and the tale of a man's passion for an endangered species.
