An elementary school in a European city of today, Brussells. Some kids from all social and cultural origins learn how to live together. It is not easy, it's even more and more complicated in a world more unfair and heterogeneous than ever. However it is possible. We can feel the weakness of this balance, the price to pay to maintain it, and its threaten existence.
An ordinary school like a lot of others-but less and less-, so ordinary that it becomes an exception.
After the production of "À l'école de la providence" (2000), movie about a technical and professional ghetto school, I wanted to take back things right from the beginning. The fundamental school is fundamental. Have we forgotten this? And sometimes, trough thick and thin, it succeeds the gamble that our world is losing.
