The island of Yeu is a "little jewel in the setting of an emerald ocean" off the coast of France’s Vendée region. The islanders live of tourism and fishing and the flow of the seasons is marked by the ebb and flow of the tides and the visitors.
Director Patrice Gérard has been in love with the island and its people for thirty years-ever since he befriended two island boys in his college in Nantes. He would spend his summers on the island and its people became his adopted family... of some 5,000 members ! This is the tale of Jules, Germaine, Christopher, Gilles, Dédé, Marco, Pascal, Jacqueline and others, all deeply bound to their island and the sea who forged their characters, shaped their personalities.
This is the story of their everyday lives, their woes and worries, their joys and adventures – their solidarity with friends and family. An island chronicle shot over two years... and many rounds of drinks.
