An urban excavation site is always experienced as a singular event by the population. Seething with excitement, the questions, the legends, gravitate around the discoveries.
This film is an inquiry on the population’s, as well as, the archaeologist’s perception of archaeology and its trade. There is a discrepancy between the mythical image of Indiana Jones and the day to day reality of an archaeologist, not to mention, between "exotic" archaeology shown on television and the archaeology employed to save and preserve.
