2084 : the Randomness Constant
Ion Tanase
2015 - 24 min - Couleur - Belgique

As part of a documentary project, the inhabitants of the French city of Aubagne were asked to share their views and expectations for the future - for the year 2084, to be precise. As no science-fiction stories have ever been set in Aubagne, the film takes the residents' answers and weaves them into a theoretical reflection about the human need for creating futures and dreams. Implicitly, the film is about cinema as a mirage while at the same time following and revealing the process of creating the documentary itself.
