A former Portuguese soldier in the colonial war describes the photographs of the album he made in Mozambique from 1971 to 1974. The narrator transmits to his daughter, the director, his own experience of "very concrete facts". Weapon catalogue, zoological inventory, self-portrait and ethnographic investigation, the film shows the absurd banality of war.
