Writing and developing a creative documentary

Workshop – Thursday, 23 at 10:00 am, Salle Cinéma

Like every year, the CNC is organizing a workshop on the development of a documentary film that has received support from the Aid Fund for Audiovisual Innovation – Creative Documentary.
It will focus on the project 11 Joconde valent mieux qu’une by Alessandro Mercuri and Haijun Park, produced by Stéphane Jourdain (La Huit production, Paris), which received aid for writing and development in 2016.
Aside from the question of the work’s first stages, the elaboration of its script, and its production development, the workshop will concentrate on the rewriting of the proposal and the dialogue between fiction and documentary.
Alessandro Mercuri is a French-Italian author and filmmaker. He has directed documentaries and videos which have won awards and been projected in festivals, museums and art galleries. He has written several literary essays and stories published by Léo Scheer, Gallimard and art&fiction.
Haijun Park is a Korean artist. She has exhibited her work in the United States, Canada, Korea, and Europe.
La Huit has produced, post-produced, published, and distributed films for nearly thirty years, covering the genres of documentary, fiction, and live performance. Its teams accompany authors and filmmakers developing daring, high-quality projects.

Synopsis:
In 1911, the Mona Lisa was stolen from the Louvre. But during its absence, numerous Mona Lisas started showing up out of nowhere. Why so many Mona Lisas? Of course, the stolen painting reappeared two years later in Italy. Today, the Marquis de Montmartre, a rich eccentric, has inherited one of them. Subjugated by his Mona Lisa, he goes mad. With the help of a detective and a fortune-teller, he decides to launch an inquiry to pierce the mystery.

Workshop moderated by Valentine Roulet, Head of the Creation Service (CNC)./
