As a privileged partner of documentary professionals for over twenty years, the Maison du doc manages a database of forty thousand francophone European films.
It is considered the first European documentary resource centre and is now associated with the BnF (French National Library). It houses a cooperative video library of nearly seventeen thousand films in the process of digitization, accessible to professionals.
Resolutely determined to renew its methods, the Maison du Doc launched at the start of 2017 a new internet platform: Docfilmdepot. This new tool is aimed on the one hand at festival organizers and programmers, which it assists in the management of their registration campaigns and film selection procedures. On the other hand, it allows distributors, producers, rights holders and directors to register their films simply and efficiently at these same festivals.
Today the Maison du doc is meeting a new challenge: the online Club du doc. This new project is based on the existing film collection and also on the films now registered via Docfilmdepot. A preliminary version of this service will be presented at the Maison du doc during the États généraux du film documentaire.
The ultimate goal of this new platform is to allow access to all the resources of the Maison du doc.
Professionals will have the possibility to view online the digitized films for which we have obtained authorisation from the rights holders.
Finally, as part of its mission as a hub associated with the BnF, the Maison du doc will encourage the legal deposit of documentary films via its Club du doc platform.
