Les États généraux du film documentaire 2012 Conseil régional Rhône-Alpes

Conseil régional Rhône-Alpes

Each year, during the summer, we measure a little more of how lucky we are to have in our region of Rhône-Alpes at Lussas a unique pole of activities entirely dedicated to documentary cinema. In many ways, it participates in the future vision we wish to construct for our region.

To make the seventh region of Europe a vibrant hub for the seventh art. Whether it be in fiction, thanks to Rhône-Alpes Cinema, in animation thanks notably to the Folimage studios or the Annecy CITIA, or in documentary film thanks to Ardèche Images, we have never ceased to fructify our extraordinary heritage.

Our aim is to create conditions for the emergence in Rhône-Alpes of a society of knowledge and to encourage permanent debate. To this end, we have long counted on the collaboration of intellectuals, artists, researchers, we bet on the sharing of experience and communication of knowledge. The spirit of emulation that reigns each summer in Lussas is a fine example.

This year once again, I look forward to meeting you in Ardèche for a new edition of the États généraux du film documentaire. In 2012, the major theme is the importance of a distanced eye, serious film criticism. A fine occasion to collectively question our relationship to film. I do not doubt that the debates will be numerous, passionate and above all highly fruitful.

I want to thank the organisers and numerous volunteers, all those who have made the success of this event possible. Finally I want to welcome all of you to our region and a very fine festival.
