Over the past years, digital technology has dramatically changed our lives and revolutionized our relation to film. Major video broadcast platforms have appeared and have become autonomous spaces of creation and production in their own right with their own creative teams, their aesthetic codes, social rules, and business models. It is on these platforms that today emerge the new styles and talents of tomorrow.
In line with its ambition of continuous transformation, prolonging its existing policies towards the new spaces of creation and distribution, the CNC established a support fund for creation and distribution on digital platforms in October 2017.
The organisation of these new aid funds fits in with the strategic and political desire to fully integrate the major actors of digital technology within our system of contribution and support. They participate financially in the creation and renewal of talent on these platforms via the so-called “YouTube” tax.
The CNC aims to support the development of quality content, permitting a rise in standards of the recurrent content published on the “digital channels” and encourage the diversity of digital creation. Its mission is to scout and renew talent. It plays the role of an incubator on digital platforms, supporting and accompanying their movement to become more professional and to improve the sector’s structure.
This introduction to the CNC / TALENT fund will present the operation of the two support systems (support for creation and support for the editorial policy of channels), describing submission procedures, eligibility, beneficiaries, amounts, expenses, the commission, and everything you need to know to understand this new mechanism for video creators on the internet. Creative videos and successful pitches will be screened to illustrate the explanation.
